Argh. I already missed a day! I must write each day or this will never work for me.

I heard from my brother today. He is currently stationed in Iraq. He went over in December so he will be there until Christmas time. The Green Zone where he works is somewhat safer than the guys riding around Baghdad and other places. I know that the insurgent have been able to sneak some bombs inside of the Green Zone but those are few and far between. Sean said that he met with a bunch of Iraqi kids that were really nice and very thankful for the goodies I send over. Apparently, some of the people are happy that our military is there. Hopefully, the next president will bring our people home.

Ian goes back to school in a couple of days - he is absolutely dreading it. According to my amazing little boy, the third grader is absolutely boring.

Today I was reading the Detroit News and there was a little blurb about the outbreak of a disease in China. Apparently, they had to quarrantine a small village. The paper didn't mention if the people lived or died, hopefully they lived. Why was it such a small blurb? Maybe the New York Times will have something more detailed.

Hello journal. Today I decided that in light of the craziness that is beginning that I should keep a record of my life and the events surrounding me. The world seems to be spinning out of control these days. Violence is increasing in the Middle East and more American soldiers are dying over there. We have seen terrorist attacks on US soil. The allies that our country once had seem to be turning their backs on us and our President makes threats daily. I don't know how this will all turn out but I just want to keep it all written down for my own sense of sanity. Hopefully, I can remember to update this journal regularly because if I rely on the press - they will change things as they go.
